TikTok Cup: The short video platform announces partnership with CSL for new esports tournament
The esports in 2020 just got another big tournament. The short video platform TikTok closed a partnership with Collegiate StarLeague (CSL) to bring a new competition, the TikTok Cup. The promise is to pay US 60.000 to the champions of four popular games: Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League.
TikTok also promises to give additional prizes to competitors who upload videos through the platform, and their content can appear during the tournament stream. It’s a CSL tournament, therefore, only those who study at a college or university in the United States will be able to compete. The prizes will be different for each game that is in the tournament.

The short video platform TikTok has grown exponentially in popularity, including with pro players, teams and influencers. Among the participating teams are 100 Thieves, FaZe Clan and Team SoloMid. The video platform is very popular among streamers as well.
