Hyper Scape is the battle royale with the fastest combat ever
Ubisoft launched a new battle royale game by surprise and it’s already one of the most hyped games these days. That’s because it has fast and intense gameplay. Hyper Scape promises to be a huge competitor against Fortnite, PUBG, Free Fire and Call of Duty: Warzone, by offering more a more challenging experience. Hyper Scape is still in beta, but it’ll be free to play and will arrive on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2020.
The Beta test will run until July 7 on the PC. There will be other testing weeks to be announced, possibly including other platforms. Many details of the game were not revealed yet, like its release for the next generation of video games, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Ubisoft will hold an event called Ubisoft Forward on July 12, where it will show more Hyper Scape details, as well as showcase other of its most anticipated games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Gods & Monsters and Beyond Good and Evil 2.
Watch and Play
To be able to play Hyper Scape right now, you need to watch livestreams and expect a drop with the game code to install it, just like Riot games’ Valorant did a few weeks ago.
On the game map, which takes place in a city (inspired by Paris) created by virtual reality, 100 players assemble teams with three members to participate in a match called Crown Rush. The team that captures the goal in the final stage of the match, or the one that survives, wins. Because it’s in a city, there are platforms that make players jump higher and you can explore the top of buildings, which makes the matches more vertical. There’re items scattered throughout the scenarios and weapons of different types and levels.
As it takes place in a virtual world, the map has a futuristic design. Windows look like force fields that break in a spectacular way and the characters leave tracks that look like lasers. Changing weapons shows an incredible animation.
A very interesting detail of Hyper Scape is that livestream viewers can interact with elements of the match. At certain times of the match, on the stream screen, a vote opens to choose to change the map with lower gravity, reveal the position of all enemies or place infinite ammunition, for example. It is a very interesting way of making viewers “play” together with streamers. Ubisoft has promised that with the final game, more ways to participate and receive game items will be made available.
The testing phase on the PC features nine types of weapons and nine skills, called hacks, which include teleportation and invisibility, for example. All the progress achieved by players during the tests will carry on to the final game.
