GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is real and comes to console and PC still in 2021
The rumors were true! Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is real and arrives on consoles and PC still in 2021.
The Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas games, which were released on PlayStation 2, are being remastered, updated and are coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch. There is still no confirmed date yet.
In 2022, the games will be released for iOS and Android phones.
Although Rockstar has not commented, the release is seen as commemorating the 20th anniversary of the release of Grand Theft Auto 3 for PlayStation 2.
In the official announcement, Rockstar promised that the compilation “will feature several upgrades, including graphics improvements and gameplay upgrades across all three titles, while always striving to maintain the looks and qualities of the original classics,” but didn’t talk about which ones would be these improvements.
Within a few days, the current versions of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas available in digital stores will be removed, and will in the future be replaced by the remastered versions of the trilogy.
Rockstar has also promised a number of special GTA Online themed content including clothing and car customization options to celebrate 20 years of GTA III, released on October 22, 2001.
