The most anticipated games of 2021
The year has started with great expectations for the new games that are going to be released in the next few months. And the expectation is bigger because we’ll finally be able to see games made exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X e S . Will we be able to see the real power of these new video games after a few months of their releases?
Games like Halo: Infinite and God of War 2: Ragnarok are highly anticipated by fans, who still have a good list of titles to come in 2021. But we will still have a new Resident Evil , another Far Cry and much more.
And we can not forget the PC, which is increasingly powerful with the latest generation video cards. The platform will be able to dictate the direction of the visuals of the games for the new video games. Also, we have the Nintendo Switch, which runs outside without being able to produce the same visual quality as the PlayStation and Xbox, but which bets on strong titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 .
Here are the most anticipated games of 2021 for consoles and PC.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 – Switch
Perhaps the most anticipated game of 2021 is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 (if that will be the name of the game). The reason is that the first title, released in 2017 along with the Nintendo Switch, was the best game of that year and innovated in mechanics that are present in several current games. We expect more of Link’s adventures against Calamity Ganon and that this time, we can control Zelda.
2. Resident Evil Village (Resident Evil 8) – PS5, Xbox Series X and S, PC
Resident Evil 7 broke down the barriers of what the series could do by changing the view to first person and bringing a more personal and scary plot. However, you may like it or not, but it is a good game that will win a sequel that promises to be even more frightening. RE: Village is going to be huge and with an improved look because of the new video games. The scares are given directly in our faces and there will be many places to be scared. We are in a European village where many strange things are happening. There is a castle that resembles RE4. What is next?
3. God of War 2: Ragnarök – PS5
The most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive is full of mysteries. We don’t know if it will be a new game or if it will be a remastered version of God of War on PS4 with an additional stage, just like Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5. Either way, we’re looking forward to more action with Kratos.
4. Halo: Infinite -Xbox Series X and S
After a disastrous demonstration, which further showed how the 343 Industries studio cannot make a franchise game, Halo Infinite should arrive in 2021. A game overhaul was promised, improving the game’s look and quality to something closer to the that fans imagine. However, we still don’t know if the game will be divided into phases, as before, or if it will have a game system as a service, just like Destiny. Let’s wait and see the future of the franchise.
5. Deathloop – PS5 and Xbox Series X and S
Developed by Bethesda, we will enter a world where we have a set time to eliminate a killer before having to repeat the day again. If you die, everything comes back as before, that’s why the “Loop” in the name of the game. It is one of the most awaited titles of the year.
6. Diablo 4 – consoles and PC
Blizzard’s action RPG needs no introduction. However, it is not being easy to convince people to play Diablo 4 due to all the controversies of the third game (which is excellent). So, look forward to a renewed look, lots of powers and abilities and frantic gameplay in the new and awaited title.
7. Far Cry 6 – Consoles and PC
Like previous games in the series, Far Cry 6 wants to address controversial topics and a lot of violence. After all, if we have a villain played by Giancarlo Esposito, Gus Fring from Breaking Bad and Moff Gideon from The Mandalorian, we already know that his violent actions will impact history and our character. Also, wait for a detailed open world and many battles to be able to free the country from the clutches of this terrible enemy.
8. Horizon: Forbidden West – PS4 and PS5
Aloy is returning and we want to know how the game world is, full of robotic beings that resemble dinosaurs, after the events of the first game. We know that the character goes to the West and will be able to explore the seabed, where she will be able to find new creatures. We are curious, too, to know what Aloy’s new skills will be in the new Horizon.
9. Gotham Knights – consoles and PC
Batman is no longer with us. So it’s up to the Red Hood, Batgirl, Nightwing and Robin to protect Gotham City from the most terrible villains. The style of play will focus on cooperative matches, but following the style of play that we are used to in the Batman: Arkham series. Still, the game follows the style of games as a service, with enemies presenting different levels, as we saw in Avengers. We just hope that the game does not have the same fate as the Marvel title, which was very poorly received by players.
10. Elden Ring – consoles and PC
Made by FromSoftware, by Sekiro and Dark Souls with a little help from George R. R. Martin, creator of Game of Thrones. We don’t know what the game will be like and we should have seen something. But only with what has already been shown, it is one of the most anticipated games of 2021. According to the game’s creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, Elden Ring is a fantasy third-person action RPG. In the gameplay part, it is heavily based on Dark Souls.
